Honey Bee Removal
Honey Bee Removal

Honey bees are often mistaken for other stinging insects, but their removal requires a much more delicate and informed approach. Unlike yellow jackets or hornets, honey bees are a protected species in many areas and play a critical role in our ecosystem. We always favor live bee relocation instead of extermination, and here's why. At Southeast Bee Removal, we specialize in the safe, humane, and complete removal of honey bee colonies from homes, businesses, and outdoor structures.

Whether you’re dealing with a swarm hanging from a tree limb or a fully established colony inside your walls, floor joists, chimney, or roof, we have the tools, experience, and construction knowledge to remove them without unnecessary damage to your home, without unnecessary damage to your home, see our step-by-step bee removal process for exactly how it works. Not sure who to call? Here's how to choose the best bee removal company near you.

Hornet Removal
Hornet Removal

Hornet nest are completely removed and destroyed. Common places for bald-faced hornets to build their nests are tree limbs, bushes, and underneath an overhanging eave of a house. Southeast Bee Removal removes the entire nest. If the nest is attached to the outside of a structure it will leave markings where the hornets glued the nest onto the house. The residue can be removed for an additional cost upon request. Hornet nests that are very high up pose less of a threat as far as the chance of the hornets stinging anyone, however Southeast Bee Removal has the ability to remove these if necessary.

Bee Inspections
Bee Inspections

Southeast Bee Removal is available for property inspections for honey bee infestations, hornet nests, and yellow jacket nests. We are experienced in bee behavior and know what signs to look for to determine if there is a bee problem, where it is, and what steps are necessary for removal.

This can be a great service if you are buying or selling a home that you think might have an issue with bees. It is also useful if you have found bees in your house but do not know where they are coming from. We can do a thorough walk around to find the location of the bees nest and also look on the inside of the home/property if needed. We will send you a receipt stating exactly what we found, what action should be taken, and what work was done if any.

Note: Best days for inspections are on warmer sunny days when bees are likely to be more active.

Bee proofing
Bee Proofing

Bee Proofing is sealing all gaps in a home or structure to prevent bees from being able to enter. Common places we seal are where the brick meets the siding, eaves, vents, and any other noticeable gaps approximately 1/8 inch or bigger. Southeast Bee Removal offers different levels of bee proofing: sealing some of the gaps with no warranty, to sealing all of the gaps with a warranty of up to five years. For infestations of two or more honey bee colonies we recommend having some level of additional bee proofing done after the hives are removed. Contact us to discuss the best option and for an estimate.

Yellow jacket Removal

Nests that are in the ground are simply dug up and destroyed. Nests that are in a structure can be a bit more complicated. Yellow jackets are tiny and easy to miss. They are also easy to mistake for honey bees. If the first time you notice the bees is July or later it is more likely to be yellow jackets whereas honey bees usually show up earlier in the year. Also unlike honey bees, yellow jackets will chew through drywall given enough time and can start coming inside your home.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Which stinging insects do you actually remove?

Honey bees, yellow jackets, hornets and occasionally bumble bees. We do not remove carpenter bees, mason bees, ground bees, paper wasps, mud daubers or cicada killers — those are a general pest control job and we are happy to point you to one.

How do I know whether I need removal, inspection or bee proofing?

If you can see steady traffic at an entry point, you need a removal. If you hear or smell bees but cannot find them, start with an inspection. If you have already had a colony removed — or two or more colonies on one property — add bee proofing so it does not repeat.

What is bee proofing and is it worth it?

It is sealing every gap around 1/8 inch or larger where the brick meets siding, at eaves, vents and other openings. We offer levels from sealing some gaps with no warranty up to sealing everything with a warranty of up to five years. For repeat infestations it is the only thing that actually breaks the cycle.

Do you do the repairs, or do I need a contractor afterwards?

We do them. Our background is construction as well as beekeeping, so the removal and the repair happen in the same visit. Companies that only remove the bees leave you to find and pay a second trade.

How long does a typical job take?

Around four hours from start to finish, including repairs — sometimes less, sometimes more depending on access and colony size.
